Kristen Creecy – Founder of the Financial Cupcake

I am Kristen Creecy, 33 years old, and a native of Minnesota but after needing a change from the cold winters, I decided to make that bold move to Tennessee after graduating college where I began working in the mortgage industry. Unfortunately my knowledge and skills in the financial industry didn’t get into my hard head as I struggled with by own finances from debt, financial pressures, and even homelessness. Embarrassing I know, but that’s my story. If I can overcome it, so can anyone else!

I’ve been down in Tennessee for nearly 10 years and I don’t think I will be leaving anytime soon. It’s beautiful and I made many new friends and acquaintances, including a cat named River!

I left the corporate finance world after 9 years to help run the nonprofit, Foster Kids United, with great friends of mine as we mentor foster youth together as they age out of care.

It is my passion to help young adults establish a firm foundation to build the life they’ve always dreamed of. One of my favorite phrases is “one day at a time” and this is so true when it comes to any goal we may have. My other passion is to spread as much hope and encouragement as I can in such a negative world. Life is too short to be negative. The only negatives that should be allowed is for the camera! 🙂
