Lack of Planning

Have you ever needed to get something done and lacked the knowledge or insight to follow through with it to completion? If only we could instantly get to a certain place or our wall to be instantly completed and painted just like the computer game The Sims. But, life isn’t like The Sims, isn’t it? When we paint a wall, we have to count the cost to see if we can get it done especially to look good.

When we need to go to the store, we don’t often look at the store’s hours before we head out. Then we find out we would drive all that way just to end up at a closed store. Especially in 2023, gas is expensive. Planning is key if any of us want to be successful while on the road.

The paychecks could be gone so quickly by just some spontaneous drives around the block.

It might be fun to get out of the house for a bit to breathe and chill, but that break could end up costing big time. I’ve learned this the hard way plenty of times. I haven’t quite learned of my own spending triggers yet so each time I took a “break”, my own budget would be blown and I would end up in regret for a very LONG time, longer than I needed to be stuck in there.

Hey – I’m a huge fan of driving. I love a good ole road trip! I think I love going on road trips alone because as an introvert, it’s hard to come up with things to say when you’re with someone (ha). Looking at the bank statement afterwards was enough to see where my expenses turned into. I could only imagine where the money would have been spent instead if it didn’t go to gas at all those gas stations. So much was just on gas alone. Did I even eat? Haha of course but compared to all the expenses with gas money, it sure didn’t seem like it. I do recommend having snacks in the car beforehand, so you won’t be overspending on the trip. Snacks can be pricey and it adds up BIG TIME, so it’s smarter to just bring the snacks with you. When you’re hungry, you can stop somewhere for a break, rest up, and eat up 🙂

How do you plan your trips?
